Wintermist is a local chapter of the Kingdom of Caid. We’re those history geeks you see in your local parks, fighting in armor and learning medieval crafts. We’re part of one of the largest historical societies in the world, the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). With over 30,000 members worldwide, we specialize in researching and recreating the arts and skills of pre-17th Century cultures from all over the globe.

Would you like to learn how to make things? Real things, by hand? Would you like to learn how to brew your own beer and mead, sew your own clothes, or swing a sword? Maybe you’re into music and dance? Perhaps you like riding horses, or cooking recipes from a thousand years ago? Maybe you feel like you could make chivalry and courtesy a part of your life in our modern age?

The SCA is a fantastic organization for learning all of these things, and Wintermist is the local group of fantastic people who are here to help. We have some of the most skilled warriors, artisans, and entertainers for miles around, and we’d love to introduce you to all of our friends. If you would like to learn more, please join our Facebook Group, and attend one of our local meetings. If you’d like to speak to someone directly, reach out to our Chatelaine, who helps newcomers by answering all of your questions.

Come as you are! Everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be an expert to join. We all started off with a passion for history and thanks to the friendships and generosity of SCA members, we’ve been able to build a thriving community of happy history geeks.
